What to Expect:
- Introduction to Newari Cuisine: Learn about the history and cultural significance of Newari cuisine and key ingredients used in Newari cooking, such as beaten rice (baji), black lentils, buffalo meat, and local spices.
- Cooking Demonstration: A Professional Chef or local cook leads the session.
- A few traditional dishes are focused on:
Yomari: A steamed dumpling filled with sweet molasses and sesame seeds.
Chatamari: Often referred to as 'Newari pizza', it's a rice flour crepe topped with minced meat, egg, and spices.
Momo: Nepali-style dumplings filled with meat or vegetables.
Bara: Savoury lentil pancakes.
Chhoyela: Spiced grilled meat, typically buffalo or chicken.
Aalu Sandheko: Spicy potato salad. - Hands-On Cooking: Guests are divided into small groups for a more personalised experience and guided through the preparation and cooking processes.
